— Pope Francis

Faith and Therapy

For many, faith is an important source of meaning, hope, resilience, community, and healing. PCN welcomes faith into the therapeutic process. Depending on the needs and preferences of the individual, therapy may include exploration of faith and spiritual struggles.

Our intake team asks about each person's goals and preferences so that, whenever possible, we can make a thoughtful match, including for parishioners seeking a therapist who can substantially integrate Catholic faith into treatment.

Psychotherapy and pastoral care serve different but complementary roles. PCN therapists provide professional mental health treatment while respecting the important roles of priests and spiritual directors in spiritual formation and pastoral guidance.
